Manchester Communion *Christmas Special* 2012

manchester communion christmas special 2012 gig posterOn Thursday, 6th December we’ll be seeing the year out with a bang at The Ruby Lounge in Manchester with a stellar line up for our Christmas Party!

THE AGE OF GLASS – We love this Manchester three piece SO much. If you saw them playing our launch at the beginning of the year you’ll know what we’re talking about. They say; The Age of Glass are an experimental trio, combining the timeless melodies of Reggae, Blues and Folk with a 21st Century rhythm section. This dynamic approach enables them to pollute the Mississipi delta sound with a digital durge of slick well oiled, smoky Trenchtown beats and bleeps, dragging Reggae, Blues and Folk kicking and screaming into the post modern urban wastelands.

HOT BOTZ BRASS BAND – This is going to be very special. Hot Botz are another Manchester group, but these guys are a 7 PIECE BRASS BAND! A high energy brass band performing live drum and bass, reggae and other modern dance music. The band is based in Manchester, UK, and is made up of 2 trumpets, 2 trombones, sousaphone, drums and an MC. You won’t be able to keep still.

THE FAMILY RAIN – This up and coming Bath based 3 piece are seriously not to be missed. A psychedelic 60′s blues rock extravaganza.

BEN LOVETT (COMMUNION FOUNDER/MUMFORD & SONS) – Then, to cap the night off, we’ve got Communion founder and Mumford & Sons keyboard maestro Ben Lovett who’s stopping off from their UK tour to take to the decks and spin indie hits and Christmas classic’s into the night.
