New York Communion November 2012

New York Communion November 2012 Gig PosterCommunion NYC returns on November 1st 2012 at Union Hall in Brooklyn with another fantastic line-up:

Magnificent 7’s
An acoustic five-piece based in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada (Slurpee capital of the world/Murder Capital of Canada). They draw from a variety of musical backgrounds and create a relevant sound for the musically informed. It’s not your grandma’s bluegrass, but she’ll love it.

American Authors
They are a four-piece pop/rock band from Brooklyn with beautiful, sharp vocal harmonies and high energy. Their music is an expression of their experiences as a shared unit through an agreement of sound, which is definitely exemplified in their debut album Anthropology.

Graph Rabbit
Graph Rabbit is the Brooklyn-based duo of artist/composer Austin Donohue (guitar, vocals) and experimental pianist Shy Kedmi (analogue synths). Their debut album Snowblind is a deftly nuanced concept album, sweepingly cinematic at times and hauntingly minimalist at others. The album follows an unnamed character as he wanders through a surreal snow-scape, in and out of sleep, following birds through fields, arguing with a river and eventually just surrendering to the silence of snowfall. “It’s like, what if Dorothy decided to kick off the ruby slippers and stay in the poppy field while it snowed?” says Donohue.

Zane Carney
Incredible guitarist Zane Carney plays lead guitar in a band with his brother called CARNEY, at Spider-Man Turn Off The Dark on Broadway and in the House Band for CW’s New Game Show “Oh Sit!” Aside from his distinguished gigs as a guitarist, Zane also has a vision as a solo artist he is very excited to begin.
