The Slow Show
theslowshow.co.uk

A recently formed Manchester based band with a dynamic, warm, beautiful organic sound that has many references to American alt folk country but with a distinctive Northern English touch.

Their critically acclaimed debut EP Midnight Waltz displays their carefully crafted musicianship and lush melodic songwriting. The diverse instrumentation, in particular the use of a colliery type brass band sound, adds an extra dimension to their music.

Drawing on a diverse range of musical inspiration you can hear influences from classic artists like Neil Young. Tom Waits & Bob Dylan echoing through out their music.

The Slow Show have quickly built an excellent reputation for their live shows where they are often joined by their brass section and the occasional extra vocalist.

Even at this early stage of the band’s existence they have attracted enough attention to be asked by the BBC to perform at their Radio 2 In Session show supporting Elbow at Manchester Cathedral.

The Slow Show’s eagerly awaited EP ‘Brother’ was released on 2 April 2012.

Arthur Rigby & the Baskervylles

Arthur Rigby & the Baskervylles are an 8-piece Orchestral Pop band, based in Leeds. The sound the band creates is a genuinely beautiful mixing pot of lush orchestrations, poetic lyrics, romantic melodies and powerful energy.

The music is the invention of front man and guitarist Benjamin, scoring songs for violins, piano, bass, trumpet, trombone, Saxophone and flute. Originally a 2-piece, with drummer Alex joining Benjamin, the Leeds based duo used orchestral backing arranged on laptops with samples and programming.

Arthur Rigby & the Baskervylles released their debut Ep, Tales From Pegasus Wood, in April 2012. The 5 track E.P encapsulate the band’s sound, moving from the huge chorus’ to tender and fragile melodies. They have become firm favourites of BBC 6 Music’s Tom Robinson, who regularly features the band on his show. As their following grows at a substantial rate, the band are developing quite a buzz.
