Trixie Whitley’s magnetic presence and stunning voice captivated audiences worldwide in 2010 and 2011 as she toured the world performing with Black Dub. During the Black Dub recording sessions, she also recorded her second EP, The Engine, featuring her own music, and began preparing to record her debut as a leader. In late 2011, she released Live at the Rockwood Music Hall, a 5 song EP of her solo performance recorded at Rockwood in New York City. She is currently finishing her first full-length record with musician/producer Thomas Bartlett (Antony & the Johnsons, Rufus & Martha Wainwright, the National, Grizzly Bear…) and engineer Pat Dilett (David Byrne, Lou Reed, Mary J. Blige…).
Pony Boy

Pony Boy’s gravel-riddled tunes have been coined, “Junkyard Country,” with “smokey vocals that could rival Cat Power…channeling the romance of Patsy Cline, the blues of Gram Parsons and the balladry of Tom Waits.” The sound recalls a 1950′s nostalgia and Southern Gothic Soul. Channeling a myriad of influences from early blues to doom-wop, Pony Boy recorded her upcoming debut LP with producer John Would (Fiona Apple, Warren Zevon, Wanda Jackson) mostly in one-take performances between beers and Mexican food in Echo Park.
Moss

Amsterdam’s Moss released their 2nd album in 2009. It all started in the confinement of an English farm on the outskirts of London. Inspiration came in many forms. A live show by the Brian Jonestown Massacre set the tone. A conversation in a pub with a man who insures satellites for a living was food for thought. The energy and vibrancy of the streets of London filled their heads and Phoenix played constantly on the car stereo to and from the studio sessions. Back home some credit has to be given to the old bomb shelter in Amsterdam, where they set to work molding this collection of ideas into an intense, dark and driven sound. The band’s sound is hard to pin down, taking cues from a rich musical tapestry but always focusing on a finely honed song writing craft.
