Brighton Communion September 2012

Brighton Communion September 2012 Gig PosterBRIGHTON COMMUNION @ THE HOPE ON THURSDAY 27TH SEPTEMBER 2012

FORESTEARS
http://www.facebook.com/forestears
“Forestears deliver the most idiosyncratic fusion of latina jazz, lo-fi acoustic garage indie and a grab-bag of other musical genres that we’ve ever heard. Like the La’s before them, their dishevelled, skilful skiffle-rock is something that isn’t easy to pigeon-hole – so be prepared to be surprised!”- Live & Loud

KINS
http://www.hellokins.com/
Their sound lies somewhere between Radiohead and Fever Ray with Television-esque guitar. In May 2011 they released their first E.P. ‘Dancing Back And Forth, Covered In Whipped Cream’ to much critical acclaim.

FILTHY BOY
http://www.facebook.com/FilthyBoyPage
“An attractive blend of louche, loafers-no-socks romance (think Paul Banks as Julian Plenti), twangy 50s slick backed rock’n'roll quiffage that Alex Turner would be eminently happy with and the strut and sassy pomp of Franz Ferdinand at their finest.”
- MUSIC OMH

WOLF ALICE
http://www.facebook.com/wolfalicemusic
“two girls and a guy from North London who ‘write songs about their short lives along the Holloway Road’. Vocalist Ellie Rowsell has a luxurious and dreamy style, which is draped over a soundscape of delicate melody – a fusion that will no doubt draw comparison from the likes of The XX.” – Blagsound.com

JOE BANFI
http://www.facebook.com/JoeBanfiMusic
We first encountered Joe when he sent in a demo last year and we liked it so much we went on to include his track “Olive Green” on our New Faces compilation album earlier this year. For those of you lucky enough to have seen Joe perform at our 2nd birthday party and at Bushstock you’ll remember his darkly beautiful songs and emotive voice.
