Oxford Communion October 2011 at Jericho Tavern

Oxford Communion October 2011Communion returns to Oxford on October 9th. Come to the Jericho Tavern to see some great bands. It is the first of many great gigs so don’t miss out.

Here are the amazing acts to look forward to (if you haven’t already, look them up so you can sing along…)

TO KILL A KING

The closest thing the UK has to The National, this band are really great. Also, they are going to be pretty huge. They’ve just become label-mates with Laura Marling and Jamie T and their music is equally as good. This is the last time you’ll be able to see them somewhere as intimate as the Jericho so don’t miss out

SPRING OFFENSIVE
www.springoffensive.co.uk

Undoubtedly Oxford’s most interesting band since Foals, they are continually growing and maturing and consistently writing great tracks. They have promised a ‘stripped down’ set which will undoubtedly be very special

WIDE SEA
www.widesea.co.uk

4 Germans who evidently grew up listening to Crosby, Stills and Nash or the Beach Boys rather than Rammstein. Sure, you don’t expect four part harmonies from Frankfurt but these guys are so great. They’re mentored by Edwyn Collins of Orange Juice fame which is cool.

JUAN ZELADA

A great singer-songwriter with a voice like velvet, Juan guarantees catchy, infectious pop songs. He is definitely one to look out for in the future
