Communion Leeds – 28 March

With a new home of The Brudenell Social Club, Leed’s Communion offers up its first ever six bill of artists in March, with a line-up of great variety.

Communion Leeds 28 March 2010Our headliner, Nat Johnson is the former singer, songwriter and guitarist of Monkey Swallows the Universe who released two critically acclaimed albums earlier in the decade. The five-piece toured with the likes of Richard Hawley, the Long Blondes and Camera Obscura, played a host of festivals and performed live sessions for Radio 4 and 6music among others.

Supports:

Alexander Wolfe – “If you like Nick Drake and Elliott Smith you’re gonna love Alexander Wolfe.”

Hugh Gavin – A mix of swooning vocals and great lyrics, a true talent to keep your eyes on for the future.

Jay Hart – An indie-infused-alt-country affair, with beautiful melodies, aching chorus’s and thought provoking lyrics. His debut E.P. is out later this month.

Sootytern – Newbies to Leeds are Cumbria’s offering to the folk/pop genre, inspired by the likes of Modest Mouse, Decemberists and British Sea Power, they provide a coastal outlook on various aspects of life.

Germain – Up and coming indie from Leeds, making a name for themselves with a true rock n roll passion will open proceedings with a striped down acoustic set.
