Communion Launches in Bristol

The glorious club night COMMUNION has finally arrived in Bristol!

Launching on the Sunday, 14th March @ Mr.Wolfs (33 St Stephen Street)

You may have heard a mention of the mighty successful London clubnight set up my Mumford & Sons’ keyboardist Ben Lovett and Cherbourg’s bassist Kev Jones. Communion has been running for four years now with sister nights in Leeds, Brighton as well as Sydney Australia. Communion has played host to the great musical talents of Laura Marling, Johnny Flynn, Noah and the Whale, Example and The Holloways, to name a few.

Headlining our first ever Bristol Communion is the creative outlet of songwriter Sam Taylor, who has been gigging his gloriously lyrical and honest folk influenced sounds, under the name Adelaide’s Cape. They are on tour at the moment with Alessi’s Ark and also releasing their brand new EP on March 8th.

To start the evening off we have the soft sounds of singer songwriter Emily and The Woods. Prepare to be captivated by her magical self and her music.

Next “..the charming Nuala – all frothy hair, winsome smile and a voice that would smack you round the ear when you least expected it.” (fRoots Magazine).

Then we shall have Stokes, William grace the stage. With as much genius as Johnny Flynn, Will Stokes writes intelligent lyrics intertwined with intricate yet catchy melodies that you can’t help but play over and over. They will also be appearing on Communion Records’ first release!

Then we have Lulu and The Lampshades, a very exciting and quirky act on the nu-folk scene. Expect ukes, shaky things, tamborines, stamping and masses of folky fun.

This is going to be an event to remember, and certainly one that should not to be missed! Communion Bristol will showcase new music religiously on the second Sunday of every month at Mr.Wolfs!

Be part of something very special from the start.
