Communion goes to Australia

Communion is the one of the UK’s premiere live nights, set up by Ben Lovett and Kevin Jones to foster rising independent songwriters and artists amid the hectic London scene. Since inception, Communion has helped launch the careers of Laura Marling, Noah and the Whale and many more. It’s also a record label supporting up and coming folk and indy-pop artists with a series of Communion compilation albums scheduled for release in 2010.

Wednesday 27th, Communion comes to Australia. In conjunction with Scorpio Music, Ben Lovett will hold an Australian first Communion night on 27th January at GoodGod Small Club in Sydney’s Spanish Quarter. Featuring a stellar line up of Sydney’s most adventurous, buzzing artists, Communion Australia aims to follow in the footsteps of it’s UK roots, to become a celebration of everything that is wonderful about new Australian music through exclusive, monthly live nights and regular compilation releases. Communion / Scorpio Music will release the first compilation, a collection of UK and Australian Communion artists later this year.
